Description
Compared to standard hex nuts, square nuts have a greater surface contact with the part being fastened, and therefore provide greater resistance to loosening. They are also much less likely to become rounded-off after repeated loosening/tightening cycles. Manufactured to DIN 557.
DIN 557 regular pattern square nuts are four sided nuts. Their geometry provides a greater surface area to apply
higher torque when tightening and also a greater surface are in contact with the part being fastened, thereby increasing the
resistance to loosening.
